I got a call from Mr Yip of Echo Photo & Audio couple of days ago that the new Fujinon XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS just arrived, so I went to the shop and picked it up yesterday.

Nothing definitive to say yet other than the initial impression is quite good. Lens construction is very good and solid and up to the same standard as other XF lenses. It is the biggest XF lens so far, but still a reasonable size lens and small compared to typical DSLR telephoto zoom.

With a zoom range of 55-200mm, it has the field of view (FOV) equivalent to a 82.5-300mm zoom lens on a full frame camera. In real life usage on a X-Pro1 or XE-1, it will be roughly equivalent to say a Canon EF 70-300mm f4-5.6L IS USM on a full frame camera like a Canon 6D or 5D Mark III…
